Are you ready?! In just two short days, it will officially be AUTUMN! Yess! How excited are you? Around here, even with the 90 degree heat we’re still feeling, we’re excited!

Dot has introduced me to the joy, nay, the necessity of the Starbucks’ Pumpkin Creme Frappuccino. A nice cool drink for times such as these. As you can see, she’s also introduced me to the joys of Instagram and Pixlr-o-Matic. (I’ll link those related posts in the Blog Hop portion of this post!)
I’m looking forward to the upcoming week. It’s PREMIERE WEEK! There are a few new shows I want to take a peek at. But mostly we’re extremely excited for the season premiere of NCIS. Now that it doesn’t compete for my attentions with FLASHPOINT, I’m back on the Gibbs Bandwagon. Oh, and a very special shout-out to ION Television for finally announcing Flashpoint Season 5 on their schedule. So we’re a month behind Canada, at least we get to see it!
I’ll be linking up last week’s Stalker post here and with Shell’s Things I Can’t Say. I’m still wracking my brain with how to raise enough funds to afford the airfare so I can accept the trip to Myrtle Beach that I won. I’ve seen some Bloggers put PayPal “Donate” buttons on their sites, but that’s just not my style. Besides, right now, Officer O’Rourke’s family needs donations more than Dot and I do!
Did I mention I have a day job now? I’m so very excited. I’m a Substitute Clerical for the local school district. I’ll be filling absences and vacancies as needed. I did this very same job five years ago and I loved it. I’m hoping to get some nice assignments. I was just hired, and I’ve yet to get to work, but at least I have an employer! And for that, I am very thankful.
With every passing day, I’m seeing that life is more and more of a teeter-totter/up-and-down, and my desire for stability, balance, and positivity relies mostly on me and me alone. I prefer being a colorful leaf swept along in the cool, crisp breeze… and decorating the world as I go along.
And Frankly, My Dear… that’s all she wrote!
And now it’s time for “What’s the Word?” Wednesday!

I don’t know about you but my Word this week is
“AUTUMN”
It’s almost the middle of September. Last week it seemed so lovely and Fall-ish. This week, we’re in the midst of yet another heat wave. And this one brought the humidity with it. I’m so sad, though. The last heatwave dried out both my Sweet Broom plants and they’re not reviving. They were so beautiful a few months ago. My goal for this winter is to uproot my yard and clean out the growth I don’t want, so that just before Spring comes, I can plant what I do want.
Starbuck’s Pumpkin Spice Latte is back, and I can never have enough of that. Dot’s new favorite is their Pumpkin Creme Frappuccino. As she says, “It’s like Pumpkin Pie, in a cup!” I must agree with her on that one!

Pumpkin Creme Frappuccino
We’ve been Pinning everything Autumn that we can find. This weekend I plan to bring in the fall decor. I can’t wait.
To help get into the season, I created this free printable download for you. Just click on it to open, and print it! Feel free to use it for whatever purpose it suits you.

And Frankly, My Dear… that’s all she wrote!

This week, I want to change things up a little. I’ve been spending more time online researching and contacting people and finding a few answers to my question: How to Build a Better Blog.
I know most of the time, there’s not a real theme to “What’s the Word?” Wednesdays, and while you’re still all invited to link up as many different posts as you’d like, in particular I’d love information, comments, and links about how you run your blog.
Is it a business to you? If so, what do you do to maintain it? Are you paid? Compensated in any manner? How did you get sponsors? What can you tell other bloggers to help them succeed at blogging?

Of course, there’s much more to the world than blogging, so feel free to link up anything else you’d like to share, as well.
And remember, you too can link up as many posts as you want. Come back every day between now and next Tuesday, or add them all today! There’s no minimum, and it’s open all week. Have fun and let’s share!
Cheers!

As always, I’m writing this the night before it’s supposed to post. I do this because I like knowing when I wake up that it will already be posted. It makes me feel like I can mark something off the To Do List, and all I did was open my eyes.
I also like it because it gives me a few hours to let it simmer and if I discover I need to make a change, I can do so before it posts. Sometimes, not often, but sometimes, it also gives me the opportunity to put it on hold if I have an idea for a more pressing post.
Because I’m writing this on Tuesday night, I’m wondering how the world will be different when I wake up. The Republican National Convention is taking place. Southern California has been rocked by hundreds of earthquakes in the last three days. And Isaac has been upgraded to Hurricane status, threatening to make second landfall within the next fifteen minutes.
I’m hardpressed as to decide which is my most important news story tonight. Although Isaac is winning out. The Convention and the earthquakes I can continue to read about online or catch on headlines later. I’m watching Isaac and The Weather Channel live. It’s so very surreal. Especially because it’s seven years to the date of Hurricane Katrina, and because it’s my beloved N’awlins.
As much as I can fathom, I’m going to try for Sweet Dreams tonight, and hopefully the world won’t have changed too much by the time you read this.
Be sure to check out the links I’ve added to this week’s post. They’re reruns, but worth the notice. Thanks!
