These are more photos I took on the hottest day we’ve had so far this year. My flower seeds have finally taken root (no pun intended, but there it is!). Fred is definitely getting ready to produce a harvest of Beefsteak tomatoes. And around the yard are other signs of life. Even Dot and a cat or two got in on the photography session!
I like trying different types of photography: Using natural lighting to change the tones and textures. Changing the object of focus to bring other objects into view instead.
Thanks so much for your kind words on my guest post today at Shell’s.
Your pictures are gorgeous! I’m jealous of your grapes – how cool to grow your own! I have tomatoes as well, but they haven’t ripened yet. Overall, it’s been kind of a rough year for my garden.
The grapes actually are coming through the fence from the neighbor. Don’t they look wonderful?
Great photos!!! Love the composition on the last vertical flower shot and the contrast of the dull grown with the bright yellow and red flowers. Also really love tomato shots and how you experimented with focus and lighting.

Thanks, Ann! I didn’t “experiment” with the tomato/patio photos; just the way the sunset came through the lens. Those two photos were taken just 20 seconds apart. But I did play with the other photos.
