My Soundtrack

I like to make CD’s of my favorite songs. Some are themed for inspiration, or upbeat for those roadtrips I keep getting lost on. There’s always at least one each year that seems to become my Soundtrack for the year: that CD that holds songs that inspire and move me.

Some of the songs are repeats each year. Sometimes, it’s the singer that remains the same. There are songs that remind me of friends. Songs that help me dream big. Songs that bring back memories. And songs that are just great to boogie-oogie-oogie to.

Here’s some fun and interesting facts about Christmas and decking the halls:

It is believed that Charles Dickens wrote A Christmas Carol in one month.

Reindeer didn’t accompany a chubby Santa Claus until 1809, when introduced by Washington Irving.

In the Middle Ages, some people would light a huge candle on Christmas Eve. If the candle burned out before the end of Christmas Day, it superstitiously foretold of bad luck for the coming year.

Lessons Learned: November 18, 2011

1. Movies will never be as good as books.

2. Friends are as important as family.

3. There’s more to life than a paycheck, or lack thereof.

4. However, a paycheck can make life a little easier.

5. God is in control. Always.

6. God may not provide in the way I want, but always in the way I need.

7. Some of my most important friends are the ones I haven’t physically met yet.

1. When a guy hangs up on you, it’s okay to never call him back.

2. Don’t spill your guts on the first date, or in the first month, or even the first six months. Guard your heart!

3. People put tons of research into buying a new house, getting a new job, even seeing a movie. Why don’t they do that with PSO’s (Potential Significant Other)?!

4. “Christian” means different things to different people. Speak up!
